A morning's wander around the Pinnacle Nature Reserve in Canberra. The reserve covers a hill capped with granodiorite overlooking the Molongolo Valley and Belconnen. The site was grazed in the past, and has been revegetated in recent decades. The north-western corner of the reserve appears to be original vegetation, or at least pre-dates the 1940s photos on the sign boards. So if you want to look for reptiles and invertebrates, that's probably the best bit to start with.
